The operative procedure consisted in transurethral resection of the obstructive, overcorrected dorsal bladder neck. After resection of the highly elevated bladder neck between the 3- and 9-o'clock position in the dorsal lithotomy position, the patients were able to regain a normal micturition without residual urine.
