English Obesity is not an eating disorder. Nevertheless, dysfunctional eating pattersn and eating disorders have a substantial impact on emergence and maintenance of obesity. In this article we describe problematic eating patterns that are common in obese patients and how these eating behaviors should be explored. Eating disorders are differentiated from subclinical dysfunctional eating behavior. A classification system for dysfunctional eating patterns in obesity doesn't exist so far.
